SUBMIT YOUR CONTRIBUTION
Submission deadline extended to Friday 27 February
Dear Prospective Participants of the Biodesign Conference 2026,
We have experienced a few technical issues with the submission system, and several of you have contacted us with related questions. As this is the first year we are using this system for conference submissions, we would like to allow additional flexibility for anyone who may have missed the deadline due to these technical difficulties.
The submission deadline has therefore been extended to Friday, 27 February, 23:59 AAT (UTC−12) — that is, the end of the day anywhere in the world.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding, and we look forward to receiving your submissions.

Manuscript Templates
The journal platform provides official and templates that authors are strongly encouraged to use when preparing their manuscripts. Especially for Pictorial submissions we advise the use of LaTeX / Overlaf, as they allow authors to embed figures directly within the template provided by Cambridge Journals, ensuring more control over their placement
You can access the templates at the following links:
For detailed formatting requirements and article categories, please consult the section “Biodesign Conference Article Types” on the journal’s author instructions page.
Important Notes
-
In all templates, authors are encouraged to embed figures and related captions directly within the manuscript text for review purposes. This is particularly important for Pictorial submissions, where visual content and figure placement are central to the contribution. For the camera-ready submission, however, authors must also upload all image files separately in addition to the embedded figures.
-
For demo submissions, the submission system requires a short abstract (maximum 200 words). In that box, please enter a concise description of the demo in the system, in addition to the long abstract included in the template.
-
For all submissions, authors are required to include a short impact statement (1–2 sentences) explaining the relevance and impact of the submitted work for the Biodesign community. This section can be found in the templates immediately after the abstract. In addition, Funding Statement, Competing Interests, Data Availability Statement, Ethical Standards, and Author Contributions are mandatory sections for all submissions and are included in the templates before the References section.
